Senate Vote to Target High Energy Prices
Tell Your Senators to Support the Energy Tax Prevention Act
(S.482 in the Senate & H.R. 910 in the House)

Next week, the Senate will vote on a measure aimed at blocking EPA’s job-killing regulations intended to address greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide.

EPA issued these regulations despite strong, bipartisan opposition from Congress.

Senator Mitch McConnell’s amendment would limit the EPA’s scope, preventing a host of new regulations that would further drive up the price of energy for American consumers and job creators when our economy can least afford it.

Sen. McConnell’s amendment is based on legislation sponsored by Reps. Upton and Whitfield in the House that will be voted on within the next few weeks.

With 14 million people out of work, gas prices approaching $4-a-gallon and thousands of small businesses citing regulations as their number one obstacle to growth – regulations in the form of an energy tax show more than a disconnect – it’s a blatant side-step around the American people.

As
Senator McConnell said, the regulations “would raise the price of everything from electricity, gasoline, fertilizer, to the food we eat…”

“In my view, it’s an insult to the millions of Americans who are already struggling to make ends meet or find a job.”

With a vote expected as soon as next week to limit the EPA’s onerous regulations and resultant energy tax,
we need your action now.

Show your support for this important measure and in doing so send a strong message to the regulatory agencies that we won’t be ignored.
